About Me

About Me

I have always had a keen interest in Holistic Therapies, and the powerful link between the mind, body and soul but spent many years in a variety of office jobs (project management, marketing, business administration). None of this really ticked the box, as by nature I am a very nurturing, intuitive, tactile and empathetic person, but I could never find the right outlet for this in a professional sense.

Later on, I was drawn to roles that were more people focused, including working with young people with physical and mental health conditions and also community-based roles that brought me into contact with many vulnerable people. However, there was always a healing side to me that still wasn’t finding enough outlet and a chance to thrive. Something else was trying to emerge, and I have always had the urge to put my hands on people to soothe and comfort them.

I undertook my reiki practitioner training in 2016 & 2017, but only had the confidence to use this on myself and close friends. I also studied foundation counselling skills for a year at night school, but this still did not feel the right path to pursue further. Things changed for me following the Covid pandemic in 2020, where personal family losses and a period of internal grief and growth, finally gave me the courage to give up my job, go back to college, and listen to what my intuition was telling me. I chose to study Complementary Therapies, and it was the best decision I could have made.

During my training and since obtaining accreditation (Level 3 Diploma VTCT) I have treated many clients and the latent gift I knew was there has flourished. I am thrilled to finally be working hands on with people, and seeing the benefits that touch and a holistic approach can bring. In addition to my formal training, I also have a lot of personal experience of trauma, mental health decline and recovery, that I feel brings an extra depth to my compassion, understanding and insight as a Holistic Therapist. I have a special interest in the workings of the nervous system and sharing knowledge is very much part of my service.

Finally, I am a great animal and nature lover, and can get lost on my own quite happily out amongst the green! Therefore, all the products I use are kind to the environment and cruelty free, and you can find out more about this here looking after the planet.

Thankyou for reading about my journey so far, and I hope to hear from you soon to help you with your holistic journey too.
